2013 Already!!

I cannot believe it is 2013 already!! This past year just zipped by!! And we're all a year older and some are a year wiser... tee, hee.

Well, let me get everyone caught up on what's been happening in the last several months. School started in August and then time just slipped away from me and I haven't gotten to post anything for months.

This is just a fun picture of my creative girls! So not only is the trampoline fun, but have you ever played on the trampoline with roller skates on?? Try that for some real fun! Your feet just slip right out from under you and land on your bum time and time again. The giggles I wish I could have recorded to share with you! It was so much fun to watch!

 

In September our city had a nasty mudslide that really created havoc and sadness for many residents. As community members we pulled together and shoveled mud out of basements and garages and everywhere else mud seemed to find a path. T and I helped out as much as we could. This picture is of T all dressed and ready to go to help out. When we came home, we were covered in mud! But the feeling of helping out made it all worth it. Service is a major key to happiness! I'm really proud of T for being so willing and wanting to serve others!! PROUD MAMA MOMENT!!

We also took time out as a family and drove up to Brigham City, Utah to see the new Temple and tour the interior of the building. It was beautiful!!

In October we took the 10 hour drive and spent a week playing in California. Before we played in Disneyland we went to the Ocean Institute in Dana Point. T was working on his Oceanographic Merit Badge for Scouts and visiting the institute was a perfect way to complete one of the big requirements.

Well, T & J got to participate in a squid dissection class. It was really pretty neat. I didn't think J would actually do it, but in the end. He did! And he asked tons of really great questions to the man who conducted the class. It was neat to see his interest and enthusiasm about it!

The girls also had tons of fun! There were all sorts of sea life and sea creatures to see and learn about. Including ones you can't see with your regular eyes. Here they are learning how to use microscopes.

The of course, since we're already at the ocean side, we actually went and played for a little while. They just love playing in the water. And it doesn't matter how cold it is, they love it just the same!

After playing at the Ocean Institute we finally made our way to Disneyland. Since it was late when we got to Anaheim we chose to just go roam around Disney District for the evening and get some dinner. We'll play in the park the next day. Anyhow, there's this really great Lego shop and what could be cooler than a gigantic Hulk made entirely from Lego's? answer: Nothing!

So here we are finally at Disneyland.

And just so you know... I took 130 photos while in Disneyland and that doesn't include the ones I had the park employees take but put on my picture card thingy. So you're really only getting a small sampling. Here's one last great one of Hubby and the kids playing inside the skeleton ball on Pirate Island.

And the of course we got into Halloween! 

We had a skeleton, a vampire, a cowgirl, and a Princess Pea.

Then there was also the jack-o-lantern carving and the actually trick-or-treating!

Then S had her 8th birthday!! I can't believe how quickly they all grow up!

And one last fabulous picture! 

We went to go check out the new Scheels store just north of us.
They pronounce it "sh-ee-l-s", when really they should pronounce it "sk-ee-l-s".
As in... I'm so good at this sports, I've got Scheels (with a sk sound, not an sh sound).
 Just my two bits!

Anyhow, they have these fabulous taxidermy animals with backgrounds you can take fun pictures with. And the kids definitely had fun with them.

YES! My children know how to goofs! It runs in the family. 

They get it from their father...Love you more honey!
